CEE Animation Workshop (CEE AW) is a year-long programme to develop projects and enhance producers skills in animation. It is primarily aimed at participants from low production capacity countries (LCC). The programme also invites other EU producers to apply if they have interest in working with the LCC.

The objective is to improve the competences of LCC animation professionals and give them equal access to financing and market as their Western peers, by encouraging sustainable new business models and scaling up cross border co-production initiatives. The programme is tailored to the needs of producers and their creative teams with projects of any format (short films, TV, feature films, XR) in development. It is open to career oriented film professionals who want to develop a long-term strategy for their business with a focus on animation. Each year some 32 participants will take part in 4 one-week modules. The programme is structured as a combination of group work and individual mentorship, masterclasses and case studies. Practical focus is on making significant progress in developing scripts, visuals and production packages, which will also make effect in the field of access to international markets and industry events.

In 2022 we have launched Animation Labs, short intensive workshops with partners, such as When East Meets West, where experienced feature film or documentary producers can discover the world of animation. We are planning localized tailored labs also with partners from Euro Connection Clermont ISFF and DOK Leipzig. The main goal is to increase the competitiveness and economic potential of the sector, focusing on competence, skills and talent. In addition, once a year we will organize Animation Think Tank with renowned experts with the task of developing innovative solutions. The result will be an accord, a guide that will be promoted through the industry press and the networks of CEE Animation and partners, and distributed to industry players.
