OUT OF THE BOX

The project idea came from nurturing tradition and cultural heritage and realizing the potential for promoting it in an innovative way by using the applicant’s main expertise. The rich experience of the partners in the project, related to the cultivation of folklore, traditional Croatian dances and traditional folk costumes that were relocated by migration and preserved as such in numerous EU countries, encouraged the partners to explore the similarities / differences and the cultural expression of the Croatian minority through joint international cooperation of cultural associations with the purpose of revitalization of the cultural heritage of Croats outside their home country. National costume, as a traditional clothing item, must be preserved as an important segment of the intangible cultural heritage of all nations.

Activities: Research by experts in the cultural sector on migrations of folk costumes, cataloging and digitization, creation of an innovative publication with interactive QR codes, creation of a 3D representation of the folk costumes within the whole project partnership area – using innovative digital methods, creation of virtual exhibits, which after the end of the project can be used for virtual exhibitions (holophane, hologram, virtual reality, etc.), mobile applications, as an innovative cultural – touristic product, etc. The planned activities directly contribute to the annual sector-specific goal of preserving the cultural heritage of this part of Europe, which is also one of the results of the project.

Results: digitization of cultural heritage materials, revitalization of cultural heritage of Croats in the EU.

Main outputs: Study of the situation in 3 countries, Revitalization Action Plan, 30 digitized folk costumes, 150 photos, 30 recorded video materials (processed) adapted for web, social networks, etc., 1 VR exposition, 30 QR codes, 1 book, 3 international exhibitions, 3 performances. Target groups: cultural and artistic societies, multimedia centers, members of societies (amateurs in the cultural sector), experts in the cultural sector, selectors (minimum 800 people direct reach).
