PARALLEL is a platform that brings together creative European organisations committed to promoting cross-cultural exchanges and mentorships in order to set new standards in contemporary photography.
UGM highlighted the work of the young Slovenian photographer Andrej Lamut (2017/18) as part of the emerging artists selection during the first year of the platform’s programme. In the second year, Ana Zibelnik (2018/19) follows his steps.
Main events
– in the first year 2017/18 will include a networking event and exhibition in Lisbon, tutoring workshop in Torres Vedras (PT) in November 2017; curatorship workshop in Kaunas (LT) in February 2018; photo exhibitions in Capa Center (HU), Derby QUAD (UK), UGM (SI), Foto Festiwal (PL), Landskrona Foto (SE) between April-September 2018; second selection of emerging in Hamburg (DE) in January 2018; networking events and final exhibition in Zagreb (HR) in September 2018.
– in the second year 2018/19 will include a tutorial for young photographers under the guidance of renowned curators / artists (including Ana Zibelnik); masterclasses for young photographers and curators organized by Fotofestiwala Lodz (PL), UGM (SI), YET Magazine Milano (IT), Fondazione Photo of Modena (IT); a series of exhibitions featuring young photographers and curators from the second round of the Parallel platform (Le Chateau d’Eau, Toulouse, ISSP Gallery, Riga, Finnish Museum of Photography, Helsinki, Kaunas Photograph Gallery, Kaunas, PhotoIreland, Dublin, Galleria Image, Aarhus); final exhibition of all participants of the second round of the Parallel platform, international conference and presentation of a collective catalog in Capa Center, Budapest.
