AAIICC is a public entity, established in 1991 for implementing cultural policies. Its statutes include as main objectives: research, management, production, promotion, training, and dissemination of theatre and performing arts, cultural heritage, visual arts, books and reading, audiovisual, as well as the development, commercialization, and implementation of cultural activities in public libraries, archives, museums, and archaeological sites.

Their proposed project, Creating European Comics, aims to support the strengthening and development of the European comics sector, while addressing global challenges such as environmental sustainability, gender equality, and digital transition. Over 24 months, the project will connect artists, communities, and organizations to support audience development and enhance the European comic ecosystem, reinforcing creators and publishers’ capacities to generate innovative and meaningful cultural experiences across Europe.
