stART point – a platform where performing arts and young people get connected (stART.)

Art is an adventure – and we want young people aged 13-26 to join it!

stART. was created as a response to a fundamental challenge of the contemporary cultural scene: how to reach young audiences and get them excited about contemporary performing arts? This is a question that all four organisations are facing on a regular basis. Contemporary performing arts is often specific for its interdisciplinary nature. It is an immediate response to today’s world, in a shared space between creator and viewer, which can make it totally relevant to the needs of young people, HERE and NOW.

Despite its digital connectivity and endless entertainment possibilities, young people are moving away from performing arts, finding the impulses in other activities. Classical formats have been losing their appeal as well – so, new ways must be found to bring contemporary arts and culture closer to the generation that lives fast, digitally and with high demands for authenticity and interaction. stART. has the ambition to explore, shape and test these new formats. stART. will become a platform for active collaboration – a laboratory for innovative forms and approaches that break down the boundaries between audiences and performers, between art and experience.The project supports youth participation, the development of innovative formats, international cooperation and the sustainability of the cultural sector.
