CEE Animation Workshop (CEE AW)

CEE Animation Workshop (CEE AW) are programs to develop projects, enhance the skills of producers and creatives in the field of animation, facilitate networking and create opportunities to map the European animation industry and its needs and offer solutions.

The main objective is to increase the competitiveness and economic potential of the sector, focusing on competence, skills and talent. Although the programs are open to all applicants, we pay attention to balance and support participants from countries with low production capacity. The aim is to improve the skills of animation professionals and give them access to financing and market by promoting sustainable new business models, digitalization and expanding cross-border co-development and co-production initiatives.

We organize a one-year training program CEE AW tailored to the needs of producers and their creative teams with projects of all formats (short film, TV, feature film, XR) in development. The program is structured as a combination of group work and individual mentoring, masterclasses and case studies and takes place in four one-week modules. The practical focus is on making significant progress in the development of scripts, visuals and production packages, which will also have an impact on their access to international markets and industry events.

We also organize Animation Labs, short intensive workshops with local partners where experienced fiction or documentary producers can discover the world of animation, or specialized workshops on topics such as game development, IP exploitation and AI tools in animation. In addition, once a year we organize an Animation Think Tank with renowned experts to develop innovative solutions for the industry needs.

The result is a document with a set of guidelines, that is promoted via the industry press and the networks of CEE Animation and partners and distributed to industry players.
