Since 1990, the Mainel Foundation has been working for people in two areas of action: Solidarity and Culture, with activities and projects that promote profound thoughts on the human being.

Some of our cultural activities are:

– A National Painting Prize which stands out for its jury, made up of personalities and specialists from the art world. In recent years, the collaboration with art galleries offers an extraordinary projection to the selected young artists.
– The Contemporary Visual Culture Colloquia allow the audiences to engage in dialogue and get to know important figures in the art, culture, and teaching fields.
– Art exhibitions: Ecodistopías; ODS. Miradas desde la ilustración; Un banquete cruel. PourQuoi?; Diálogos. 15 años del premio de pintura Fundación Mainel; Mundos por un mundo; Trabajo, mundo, creatividad.

In 2019, together with CxE Communicators for Europe, we are initiating a series of meetings under the title ‘The Blue Hour’ that address current issues, aimed at an audience interested in cultural aspects and social initiatives for cooperation. The spirit of the activity is to facilitate the audience’s discussion with the guest on each occasion, creating a climate of trust and dialogue.
