European Cinema Night 2023
The European Cinema Night returns with an exciting line-up of European film screenings spanning from 4 to 8 December 2023.
Six years after the launch of the initiative, Creative Europe MEDIA, the EU program supporting the European audiovisual sector, and Europa Cinemas network partner-up to present ‘European Cinema Night – Sharing stories we love.’
This initiative aims to bring Europe closer to its citizens by celebrating the richness and diversity of European film culture through free screenings across the continent.
85 cinemas from the network of Europa Cinema will participate in this edition. Each cinema has selected a European film based on the interests of their audiences, to provide a tailored cinematic experience. This edition carries on with the novelty introduced last year, which is the possibility for cinemas to select family-friendly films to attract young audiences to the initiative, as well as classic films to connect citizens with our shared cinematic cultural heritage.
To propose a sweeping experience beyond the screenings, most cinemas will organise complementary activities such as presentations, Q&A sessions with directors, actors, or other film crew members, and engaging debates. These activities aim to give audiences the opportunity to discuss the films with fellow enthusiasts.
