On Europe Day, May 9 in Maribor, Slovenia, IRDO Institute will open a large mural by Fedja Šičarov that was created within the international project YAFE supported by the Creative Europe. The mural was created in cooperation with the Secondary School for Design Maribor (SŠOM).

On 9 May at 20:00 CET, three Creative Europe MEDIA supported films will be made available online for free, for a period of 72 hours, for film lovers in Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia. Join us in this film adventure and let’s celebrate our stories together!

Funded by the EU Creative Europe programme, Culture Moves Europe offers mobility grants to artists, cultural professionals and host organisations.

Creative Europe project Shadow Pandemic: Hidden Voice created the play that premiered at the Belgrade Drama Theatre in April 2024. Two more premieres will follow, in May in Zagreb and in June in Maribor at the Maribor Theatre Festival.

Since 2014, Creative Europe has been supporting projects to foster cultural diversity, promote artistic expression, and boost the economic potential of the creative industries. On May 10, CED Slovenia will celebrate 10 years of Creative Europe in Ljubljana.

The European Commission awarded EHL to the sites for playing a significant role in Europe’s history, culture, and the development of the Union. Among them to project Cisterscapes with partners from Austria, Czechia, Germany, Poland and Slovenia.

The architecture festival taking place from 12 to 14 April 2024 highlights inclusivity of all people and interest groups in the built and designed spaces. The festival is part of the Creative Europe supported project Open House Europe.

Motovila is launching a Green Transition in Culture Training Series. First workshop on sustainable mobility and green office practices will take place on 7 May in Gorizia, Italy. Registration open.

The Danish author Theis Ørntoft is the EUPL2024 laureate for his novel Jordisk, published by Gyldendal. Among this year’s five special mentions is also Slovenian author Tina Vrščaj for the novel Na klancu published by Cankarjeva založba.
