Creative Europe is a financial instrument of the European Union intended to support projects and cooperation in cultural and creative sectors. It supports cultural and creative organisations involved in cross-border activities in Europe and abroad as well as European cinematographic and audiovisual sectors in the field of development, distribution, training, promotion and audience development.
Creative Europe consists of three programme strands:
– MEDIA for film and audiovisual sector;
– Culture for all other cultural and artistic fields, e.g. performing arts, visual arts, cultural heritage, literature;
– Cross-sectoral strand with a financial guarantee instrument to facilitate cultural organisations’ access to bank loans.
Who are the potential beneficiaries of Creative Europe?
The programme is open for cultural operators (legal entities!) who are active in the cultural and creative sectors and established in the states which are taking part in the programme. These states include the EU member states (28) as well as certain third countries or regions (bilateral or multilateral cooperation measures) and international organisations (UNESCO, Council of Europe, OECD, and WIPO).
